The properties
Castore and Polluce is born from the idea of reinterpreting the concept of the contemporary villa through clean lines, generous surfaces and a constant dialogue between architecture and landscape.
The two twin villas are designed to offer an exclusive living experience, where natural light, sustainability and comfort coexist thanks to innovative construction solutions, selected materials and technologies geared towards energy saving and everyday wellbeing.
Private gardens, swimming pools, porticoes and large openings to the outside turn every room into a space to be lived in continuity with nature, balanced between contemporary elegance and the quiet of the Roman countryside.
Castore
Detached villa of around 4,000 sqm laid out over two levels plus a mezzanine, designed to offer generous living spaces, brightness and maximum liveability.
The basement houses a large hobby area, garage and pool plant room, while the ground floor is designed to ensure a clear distinction between the living area, kitchen, bathrooms and sleeping area
The mezzanine level, characterised by ample surfaces and generous ceiling heights, offers further possibilities to customise the rooms according to different living needs.
Polluce
Polluce embodies the idea of a contemporary villa conceived for living the spaces in an open, fluid and personal way. A residence of around 400 sqm set in over 1,000 sqm of private garden with a swimming pool, where architecture and landscape are in continuous dialogue.
The layout of the rooms, arranged across basement, main level and mezzanine, allows for great design flexibility, offering the possibility to shape the spaces according to the needs of daily life.
A hobby area, living spaces, sleeping area and multifunctional spaces come together in an elegant, bright living solution strongly oriented towards contemporary comfort.
The area
The founding of the fortified village of Formello is dated to the 9th century, born of the population’s need to find refuge and defence from Saracen raids, thanks to the Monastery of St Paul Outside the Walls, to which the fief belonged.
In the 13th century it passed, by concession of Pope Nicholas III, to the Orsini family, and in 1661 it was definitively sold to the Chigi family: indeed, the historic palaces still standing within the village today are of great historical importance.
The parks of Veio and Sorbo
The territory of Formello extends within the two parks that embrace its built-up area. The Veio park, an archaeological site of historical importance and an expression of the ancient Etruscan civilisation, and the Sorbo park, a historical and natural attraction that allows for various sporting and cultural activities for groups and families.
There are numerous trails dedicated to archaeological and historical walks — the park is crossed by the final stretch of the Via Francigena towards Rome — as well as numerous routes entirely dedicated to mountain biking enthusiasts, and visits to the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Sorbo.
